Who actually wins World Bank energy and water contracts in South & Southeast Asia?

Across the 679 awards in our sample there were 741 awarded-bidder entries. Only 19 went to a firm registered outside the borrower country. Most of these contracts are small RFQ and national RFB packages, and local contractors dominate them.

What this means:

International firms should target large international RFB packages, consulting assignments (QCBS/CQS) and specialist equipment, not small works.
Teaming with a local firm that appears again and again in award notices is often the fastest way in. The award notices tell you who those firms are.
Local firms can use award data to see which agencies are buying, and at what price.
